Black History Contest Members of BGF participated in a Black History Contest hosted by board of directors. Ten seniors from Gary, IN won an all expense paid trip to Nevada to attend an Education Celebration held at Galaxy Theatres along with a tour of Hoover Damn. Six outstanding youth across the country gathered at Galaxy Theater to inspire youth from Gary, IN and students from Kermit R. Booker Elementary School in Nevada during the Celebration. The youth that spoke have set world records, turned ideas into inventions and have become successful. Young actors and actresses shared their stories along with a teenage NASCAR driver, a pilot, a golfer, a motivational speaker and a couple of inventors motivated and encouraged several students to set goals and follow their dreams.
